On October 17, the Greater Maple Valley Community Center came alive with music, laughter, and togetherness as From Page to Stage Productions hosted its annual Harvest Dance. The evening brought around forty people from all walks of life—families, children, seniors, and participants from our Adaptive Arts Program—to celebrate community and creativity through dance.

The night’s music filled the hall with energy and variety, featuring dances that ranged from lively contemporary line dances like the "Cha Cha Slide" to more traditional contra and country dances like the "Virginia Reel". No matter the style, the dance floor was always full, with smiles and swinging partners at every turn. The evening closed with the crowd favorite "Tom Bombadil" dance, an original by our veteran caller Shirley Rowe.

Between dances, yummy finger foods were shared, while conversations which began on the dance floor continued. Time was spent catching up between people who had come to previous dances, former cast mates, and new connections being made. One especially heartwarming highlight came from a couple who first met at last year’s Harvest Dance—this year, they returned newly engaged, a beautiful reminder of how community events like this create lasting connections. Events like the Harvest Dance remind us that From Page to Stage is more than a theater company—it’s a community. Whether on stage, in class, or out on the dance floor, we’re proud to create spaces where everyone can belong, express themselves, and celebrate the arts together.
